"Made in USA" is a protected statement reserved for products that comply with strict U.S. federal manufacturing guidelines. It is intended to provide confidence to consumers seeking to buy American-made products without concern about the origin of the product’s materials or manufacturing process.
What does it mean to be "Made in USA?" According to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), "Made in USA" means that "all or virtually all" of the product has been made in the United States. That is, all significant parts, processing and labor that go into the product must be of U.S. origin. Products should not contain any – or only negligible – foreign content.
In compliance with this official definition, Scott proudly declares that both the Scott Air-Pak 75 and Air-Pak NxG7 SCBA's carry the "Made in USA" brand. It is with great pride that we make this statement for every 1981, 2007 NFPA compliant Air-Pak SCBA we deliver.
For Scott, "Made in USA" has a more significant meaning – it is the commitment of our skilled engineers, production teams, customer service members, technicians and sales managers who are dedicated to the safety and well-being of first responders across the nation that add a personal touch to a technical definition. For over 75 years, Scott has embodied the heritage, honor and tradition of the fire service in our products which has elevated Scott as an American Icon in the fire service.
